Team Profile

Protagonist Jarrad, Will and Parth all got the Protagonist (ENFJ-A) personality in the 16 Personalities Test. This result shows all three are natural leaders who are hardworking, often pushing themselves to make a good impression on others. Some of their strengths include being reliable, passionate, receptive, and able to handle multiple responsibilities. These are all excellent traits that make them reliable teammates for producing quality work. One of the key weaknesses of this personality type involves being unrealistic, placing too much pressure on themselves, spreading themselves too thin. This being the case, it’s essential that in team meetings, everyone makes sure that the workload is spread evenly to make sure the Protagonist’s don’t stretch themselves too thin. All three agreed with these results. Jarrad was surprised at first at his result, but upon further reflection, discovered it to be accurate. Will doesn’t agree with every aspect of the personality but, despite this, believes it gives a good insight into how he ticks.

Mediator Jacqueline got the Mediator (INFP-T) personality in the 16 Personalities Test. This result affirms Jacqueline’s loyal, upbeat, and considerate attitude to working in a team. Mediators have excellent communication skills, getting every team member working together to get the best work done. Some of the weaknesses of this personality include being unrealistic with goals, finding it difficult to stay focused at times, and being very self-critical of their work. Due to this, other team members need to be regularly checking in with Jacqueline to see how she’s going, and make sure she isn’t getting too self-critical, keeping things in perspective, as well as go to her for deliberating tasks, as she is skilled at getting everyone to work together in a team. She also found these results resonated with her and found it interesting reading the personality insights.

Logistician Jeremy got the Logistician (ISTJ-T) personality in the 16 Personalities Test. Some of the defining characteristics of this personality type are integrity, practical logic, and tireless dedication to duty. Logisticians are very responsible and known to be a jack-of-all-trades, this makes Jeremy a very reliable team member to complete the tasks he’s required to in a very calm and practical manner. Some of the weaknesses of this personality include being stubborn to change and blaming themselves unreasonably due to their tendency to overburden themselves with responsibility. This being the case, it will be important when working in a team to make sure Jeremy isn’t overloading himself and champion him for practical logic, seeking advice on the best way to do things. Jeremy found these results to ring true, confirming his introverted nature. It provided insights into things about himself he may not have realised before and gave him something to address, especially regarding the personality's weaknesses, to work on overcoming them.

Advocate Renee got the Advocate (INFJ-T) personality in the 16 Personalities Test, the rarest personality that accounts for only 1% of the population! Known to have integrity and do whatever it takes to achieve their goals, making a lasting impact on society. Advocates are creative, insightful and passionate. On top of this, also very good at handling challenges they are faced with, making her a great person to go to when others are stuck and need clarification. A weakness that could also be considered a strength is Advocates being perfectionists. This is good because it means the standard of work produced is very high, however, they can fall into the trap of devoting too much time to completing tasks resulting in burnout. Being sensitive to criticism, it will be necessary for team members to make sure Renee isn’t burning herself out and going to her for new exciting ways to do things, as she is very creative and insightful. Renee took these results in her stride and has made the most of them help plan how she works best in a team.

Ideal Jobs

When comparing the ideal jobs across our team it is immediately clear that we each have a different path to travel as the world of Information Technology is vast and is constantly expanding. Across the group we almost all need at least 2 years of hands-on experience in a similar industry before progressing to the career that we are aiming for.

There is many differences in the careers we have each chosen, Jacqueline has decided on a path that will be highly creative and mainly focus on the design elements of IT, Parth is looking to work in a managerial position with a focus on stakeholder’s satisfaction, William and Renee’s roles are similar, focusing on the cybersecurity side of IT and protecting company data, Jeremy wishes to mesh together his aviation experience with IT and get into Software testing in the Defence Force and finally Jarrad is interested in the games programming and development aspect, which will also have a creative side, but mostly focus on the technical and coding aspects.

To complement our studies, some of us are aiming to complete additional courses to tailor our skillsets to better match that chosen career. Renee’s role requires her to get a Level 2 security clearance alongside a Diploma of Police Intelligence Practice. Parth wishes to complete some short management courses, namely PRINCE and PRINCE2. Jeremy’s role requires him to complete an ISTQB certification and lastly Jarrad wishes to undertake some game development short courses.
